At the beginning of a movie or a book there is the set up. It gives you something that draws you in, a moment that says this character/place/moment is worth paying attention to. If I had an opening line about this adventure, I'm not sure what it would be. Maybe that I (the main character in my own personal adventure) found myself looking in the mirror only to realize that what I saw there was a potential to do something interesting. What made that particular morning so extraordinary is that I didn't really have any idea what that interesting thing was or that it was going to take me on an adventure to last me a life time.
What a strange and unusual person you say to yourself as you glance over those last several sentences. Indeed it is very true that I have a peculiar scope through which I see the world, a fact I'm very content with. In a message I heard at camp, my pastor said that most of our life is made up of being in the meantime. History recounts the highlights, the ups, the downs, but quite often missing the in between. But our world is having an increasing interest in that time, getting to where we're going, what it takes. How many blogs out there recount an average morning.
Have you ever been on a road trip? You get on your way and you're riding with a friend or with family, on the way there you see sights, tell funny jokes and try to keep each other sane till you arrive and finally get to escape that car. In those moments, some of the most interesting conversations have happened. It's moments like these that have inspired this blog, the moments that won't always make the history books, but will definitely leave a lasting memory.
Buy a ticket and pack your bags for a trip unlike any you've ever been on before. Welcome to my blog.
